When using Dr. Picza to scan a model, the program might tell you "COM1 is not ready". This is a conflict with the serial port that the printer is plugged into and some mystery hardware. To fix the problem, open Device Manager and delete the "COM1" serial connection. Then under the top menu, select "Scan for new hardware." This should fix the problem.

Clearing the print queue is a nightmare. The following site gives step by step instructions how you should be able to do it.

[WWW]http://intellecta.net/mdx-20_spooler.html

If that doesn't work, try this:

To reset the MDX-20's print cue, press the view button and when the tray gets to the front, press and hold the "UP" and "DOWN" Buttons until the light begins to flash. Then turn off the printer.

The problem is probably that the print cue hates you. Even if you turn off the computer, the print job stays ready to send to the printer the moment it gets the chance; therefore we must delete the print job at the source - the print file. The file is being used by spoolsv.exe so you will not be able to delete it until you stop that process.
